Like every great story, Crudessence was born from the idea of two persons with the will to live a better life.
2006
Crudessence is born

In 2006, 2 Quebecers (David Côté and Mathieu Gallant) met in the Hawaian jungle. It is through living from nature’s edibles that they involuntarily discovered the power of living foods. One was dreaming of a restaurant, the other one of an educative Kombucha company. Crudessence was then born.
2007
Delivery of organic lunchboxes

David Côté and Mathieu Gallant, long haired, brown pants, start a delivery service for organic lunchboxes. They call the project Crudessence.
2008
The first store

Surprised by their charisma and the response they get from Montrealers, these young entrepreneurs fix up a little store on Rachel, made with recycled wood. They open their first juice bar and start offering cooking classes.
2009
The central kitchen

After several media publications and a raging success, we start thinking about growth and Crudessence arms itself with a central kitchen.
2011
The first book : Crudessence
2011
By popular demand, Mathieu and David write their first book: Crudessence. The book then becomes a Best Seller and is translated into 5 languages.
2012
Ready-to-eat products line
2012
Short of projects, they decide to launch a line of ready-to-eat products in Montreal universities and supermarkets.

Two new books

Two new books are published: Desserts and Soups.
2016
Le Groupe Evoluco
2016
Le Groupe Evoluco (Mr. Dominic Bujold) acquires Crudessence.
2017
Turning to ready-to-eat

It was in 2017 that the repositioning of Crudessence began with the closure of restaurants. The company is now turning to ready-to-eat. In November 2017, Mr. Dominic Bujold (Evoluco president) and Mr. Serge Martel (Le Groupe Martel president - leader in the Canadian ready-to-eat industry for over 55 years) joined forces to give Crudessence a new life.
2018
The distribution network

National Brands Distribution (a subsidiary of Le Groupe Martel) becomes the official distribution network of Crudessence, making products available throughout Quebec and eastern Ontario.
2019
The food truck
2019
Mr. Serge Martel becomes the sole shareholder of Crudessence. Relocation of the production plant to new premises in the Laval facilities of the Martel Group. More than ever, Crudessence's mission is to offer a line of ready-to-eat products in grocery stores and health and natural food stores. It is also in 2019 that the Crudessence “FOOD TRUCK” is born! His presence at major Montreal events is noticed and crowned with success (Formula 1, OSheaga, etc.).

New vegan products

Hiring of a renowned executive chef, with great expertise in vegan products. Development of several new products which will see the light of day in early 2022. Among other things, we will find a new range of sandwiches, as well as ready-made meals.
